About Us
Southern Prince George’s Association for Mutual Improvement (SAMI) is a nonprofit 501(c)3 Islamic organization established in July 2006 in Fort Washington Maryland.
Mission Statement
To empower and raise the station of the Muslim throughout Southern Prince George’s County MD and to strengthen ourselves and the surrounding communities in the areas of; spiritual guidance, educational curriculum, and community outreach services while adhering to the philosophy and principals of the Holy Quran and the Prophetic Tradition.
In February 2007 SAMI established Masjid Al Hikma in Fort Washington Maryland. Masjid Al-Hikma was established as the cornerstone and foundational hub of SAMI activities. In accordance with authentic Islamic Tradition the establishment of prayer provides several benefits to our growing Muslim community as well as our non-Muslim neighbors.
Long term goals include land acquisition to provide a permanent location for SAMI in Southern Prince George’s County, Maryland to include a Masjid, along with a Cemetery and a School.
